Phone repair on the Route 1 corridor. Most screens done in an hour.
Most phone screens and batteries are about an hour at the bench, and we stock the parts for the models people actually carry. Whatever happened to yours, somebody here has seen it happen to a hundred other phones. The look is free and you commit to nothing.

This page is the front door. Most people land on it with one of five problems, and each of those problems has its own page with the detail that actually matters.
- iPhone repair covers the Apple side: screens, batteries, charge ports, back glass, cameras, and Face ID.
- Samsung and Android repair covers Galaxy S and A series, Pixel, Motorola, and the foldables.
- Cracked screen repair is for when you already know what is wrong and want to know what it runs.
- Battery replacement is for the phone that keeps dying at 40 percent.
- Water damage is the one where the clock is running, so read that one first and drive second.
If you are not sure which of those you are dealing with, that is the entire point of free basic diagnostics. Come in, describe what the phone did, and let somebody who does this every day sort it into the right bucket.
First you find out what is wrong, for free
The single most useful thing a repair shop does is tell you which problem you actually have. A phone that shows nothing on the screen could be a dead display, a battery that cannot hold enough voltage to boot, or a board fault. A phone that will not charge could be the cable, the port, the battery, or corrosion nobody can see from the outside. Those are wildly different repairs at wildly different prices, and guessing costs people real money every day.
So we test before we quote. That means plugging it into known-good hardware, checking whether it draws current, checking battery health against cycle count, and opening it when opening it is the only way to know. None of that costs you anything, and you are free to take the answer and walk out the door with it.
The corollary is that we will occasionally tell you the honest answer is do nothing. A four-generation-old phone with a failing board is not worth a board-level repair when the same money buys a solid refurbished iPhone off our shelf. A shop that never says that is not being kind to you, it is being kind to its own ticket average.
The repairs we do most
Repair volume has a geography to it, and ours is shaped by where we sit. Route 1 southbound in Saugus pulls from the beach towns on one side and the dense Boston-adjacent cities on the other, and the two halves break phones differently.
From Revere, Lynn, and Nahant we get salt. Not always dramatic drop-it-in-the-ocean salt, either. A phone that lives in a jacket pocket at the beach collects salt in the charge port and the speaker mesh, and six months later the cable has to be held at exactly the right angle. That is corrosion, and it is a cleaning or a port, not a new phone.
From Chelsea, Everett, Malden, and Medford we get the hard-use phone: the one that is a work phone, a family phone, a navigation unit, and a payment card all at once, dropped on tile and on pavement and onto the platform at the Orange Line. Those are screens and batteries, and those are the repairs we can usually turn around inside a single visit.
From Melrose, Wakefield, Lynnfield, and Stoneham we get the repair that got postponed. Somebody has been living with a spidered screen since spring, or a battery that stopped making it to dinner, and they finally had a free Saturday. Those are easy days at the bench.
Screens, batteries, and ports: the honest version
Screens are the volume repair and most of them are about an hour. The part that people are not told often enough is that screen prices track the panel technology, not the brand loyalty. Older models used LCD panels and run cheap. Newer flagships use OLED, and OLED is expensive to make, so a Pro or Ultra screen costs multiples of an older model. That is why we publish ranges rather than one number.
Batteries are the highest satisfaction-per-dollar repair in the building. A phone that shuts down at 30 percent in a cold car is not haunted and does not need a factory reset. Lithium cells lose their ability to deliver peak current as they age, cold makes it worse, and a New England January exposes every weak battery within a week. Replacing one turns a phone you have stopped trusting back into a phone.
Charge ports deserve one free piece of advice before you spend anything: try a different cable, and then look into the port with a flashlight. A port packed with lint behaves exactly like a broken port. We clean those out as part of the diagnostic, and a surprising number of phones leave fixed without a part being ordered. When the port genuinely is worn, bent, or corroded, it is a replaceable component and usually a same-visit job.
The things people do not know we do
Phone repair is the headline, but a fair amount of what crosses the counter is not a cracked screen. We do data transfers, including the awkward ones where an old phone barely boots and everything has to come off it before it stops booting entirely. We do device-to-device migrations for people who bought a new phone somewhere else and hit a wall at the setup screen. We deal with phones that were backed up to an account nobody can remember the password for, which is a conversation more than a repair, but it is a conversation worth having in person.
We also buy phones. If the repair math does not work, selling it and buying something already tested is a legitimate outcome, and we would rather do that trade in one visit than send you to three places. Same in reverse: pre-owned devices on our shelf have been through our own bench before they go out for sale.
Se habla español at the counter
Chelsea, Lynn, Everett, and Revere are among the most Spanish-speaking communities in Massachusetts, and a repair is a bad time to be translating technical vocabulary on the fly. Dio Marte on the Saugus team is bilingual and works both the counter and the bench, so you can describe the problem in Spanish and get the diagnosis, the price range, and the warranty terms back in Spanish.
Hablamos español. Puede explicar el problema en español y le respondemos en español: qué le pasa al equipo, cuánto costaría, y cuánto tiempo toma. El diagnóstico básico es gratis y no hace falta cita.
How a visit actually goes
Walk in. No appointment, no queue ticket, no scheduling app. Tell whoever is at the counter what happened and what the phone did afterward, because the sequence matters more than people think. A phone that went dark after a drop is a different investigation than a phone that went dark overnight sitting on a nightstand.
We test it in front of you. The bench is in the open, because no curtains around our repair tables is how all five of our stores are laid out, and you are welcome to stand there and watch the screen come off. Then you get a range, a turnaround, and the choice. Most phone repairs are done while you go get a coffee somewhere else on Route 1. Longer ones get a status link so you are not calling us to ask.
Everything we repair carries the Limited Lifetime Warranty on the part we installed and our workmanship. If the screen we put in develops a fault, that is ours. If the phone takes another trip down a flight of stairs, that is a new repair, and we will tell you so plainly. The warranty page spells out exactly where that line sits.
What will it cost? Get your price now
We do not publish a price list, because the price depends on your device rather than on the model in general. The instant quote gives you the real number for your repair in under a minute, with no form and no email gate.
What decides your price:
- Your exact model and year
- Which part it needs, and the grade of that part
- Whether more than one thing is broken
- What we find once it is open
Basic diagnostics are free. If you would rather talk to a person, call the store and we will price it over the phone.

Each one covers what actually fails on that model, how long it takes, and what it runs.
Common questions
Do I need to make an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are the normal way people use the store. Come in whenever we are open, hand over the phone, and we will look at it.
How long will a screen or battery take?
Most phone screens and batteries are about an hour at the bench if the part is on the shelf, which for common models it usually is. Less common models may need a part ordered, and we will tell you that up front instead of after we have your phone.
Is the diagnostic actually free?
Yes. Free basic diagnostics means we test the device and tell you what is wrong at no charge, and you are under no obligation to have us do the work. It covers testing and assessment, not a teardown of a liquid-damaged board, which is its own labor.
Will I lose my photos?
A screen, battery, or port repair does not touch your storage, so in the ordinary case nothing changes. That said, any device that is already failing can fail further, so if the data is irreplaceable and the phone still boots, back it up before you hand it to anybody, us included.
Do you fix Android phones, or only iPhones?
Both, and we have for years. Galaxy S and A series, Pixel, Motorola, OnePlus, and the rest. Android screens are more varied in price than iPhone screens because the panels vary more, which is why the range on our pricing page is wider.
My phone got wet but it still works. Do I need to come in?
Yes, and sooner is much better. A wet phone that still works is a phone where corrosion has started and has not reached anything critical yet. Salt water is the urgent version, because the salt keeps working on the board long after the device feels dry.
What does the warranty cover on a phone repair?
The Limited Lifetime Warranty covers the part we installed and the workmanship on our repair. It does not cover new physical damage, liquid damage after the fact, or a different component failing later on its own.
Can somebody help me in Spanish?
Yes. There are Spanish-speaking staff at the Saugus store, so you can go through the diagnosis, the price, and the warranty in Spanish rather than translating as you go.
