Squire Road to Route 1, and the jughandle

Squire Road is Route 60, and it is the road that solves this. From Revere Beach Boulevard or anywhere along the beach, head inland on Squire Road and keep going west. Squire Road meets Route 1 at the Saugus line, and once you are on Route 1 you want to go north, because the store sits north of that interchange.

Here is the catch, and it is the thing people get wrong. We are on the southbound side of Route 1. Coming up northbound from Revere, you will drive right past us with a concrete barrier in the way. Keep going, take the jughandle at Essex Street, loop back onto the southbound side, and come down to us. From the beach end of Revere the whole trip is about 12 to 15 minutes including the loop. From the Malden and Everett side of the city it is a little less.

If you would rather stay off Route 1 entirely, Route 107 runs up from Revere toward Lynn and Saugus and gets you into the same neighborhood from the east.

Sand, salt, and the Revere Beach repair

Everyone who lives near a beach eventually learns that sand is worse than water, because sand does not evaporate. It packs into a charge port and a speaker grille and stays there, and then the phone starts charging intermittently and sounding muffled and the owner assumes it is old. Salt water is the serious one. If a phone goes in the ocean, the clock starts immediately and it does not stop when the phone dries out, because the salt left behind keeps eating the board. Beyond the beach, Revere is a commuting city. Between the Blue Line at Wonderland and Beachmont, Route 1A, and the airport running right there next to it, a lot of Revere phones live in a hand or a pocket for the entire day, and a lot of Revere laptops come home from a shift and get plugged into a cheap cable that finally kills the port.
