Route 1 through Saugus is a divided highway. Two directions, a barrier between them, and essentially no left turns. We are on the southbound side. That one fact decides how you get here.
Heading south on Route 1, toward Boston: you are fine. Stay right, look for the old 99 Restaurant building, and we are right there. No loops, no tricks.
Heading north on Route 1, from Revere, Chelsea, Malden, or Boston: you will drive right past us on the other side of the barrier and there is nothing you can do about it in the moment. Keep going north to the jughandle at Essex Street, take it, and it will swing you back around onto the southbound side. Then come back down and we are on your right. It is about two minutes. Everybody does it once, and after that it is automatic.
This is the thing people get wrong, and it is why half the phone calls we get start with "I think I just went by you."
The other Route 1 confusion: which Broadway
Route 1 through Saugus is signed as Broadway. That is our street name, and it causes trouble, because Route 99 is also Broadway where it runs up through Everett and Malden, Chelsea has a Broadway, and so does Revere. Plenty of people have typed the street into a map app, picked the wrong one, and ended up on a residential street two towns away wondering where the repair shop went.
The test is simple: if you are on a six-lane highway lined with oversized restaurant signage, car dealerships, and furniture stores, you are on the right Broadway. If you are on a two-lane street with houses on both sides, you are not. Set your destination to Route 1 southbound in Saugus and you will not go wrong.
Parking, and what the place looks like
There is a lot, it is free, and you are not going to have to circle it. Pull in off the southbound side and park close to the door. This is Route 1, so the buildings are set back from the road behind their own parking, which is convenient once you are in and annoying at 45 miles an hour when you are trying to read signs. Slow down through this stretch and you will see us.

Who is behind the counter
Ben Hall manages the Saugus store and has been building it from the first day the doors opened. The towns Saugus actually serves
Route 1 is the spine of the North Shore, so the store's real service area has very little to do with the Saugus town line. From the north, Lynnfield and Peabody are a straight run down Route 1 and land on our side of the road automatically. From the east, Lynn, Nahant, and Revere come in on Route 107, Route 1A, and Squire Road. From the south and west, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, and Medford come up Route 99 and Route 60. From across the Fells, Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield come over on the Lynn Fells Parkway and Route 128.
