Privacy policy
Short version before the long version: we collect very little, we never sell any of it, and we do not go poking around inside your phone. Everything below spells that out properly, including what happens to the data on a device you leave at the counter.
The company behind this site
MAPhoneRepair.com is run by Mass Phone Repair LLC, which owns and operates the CPR Cell Phone Repair store on Route 1 in Saugus. The same ownership runs four repair shops in New Hampshire, and the policies here match the ones followed across the whole group.
Everything written on this page applies to this website and to the way we handle devices in our Massachusetts store. We are a walk-in repair shop with a physical counter. That is worth saying up front, because it is the reason this policy is short on data collection compared with what you are used to reading.
What the forms on this site send us
The quote, contact, business, and careers forms on MAPhoneRepair.com are powered by Netlify Forms, which is part of the hosting platform this site runs on. Submit one and the contents land with us: typically your name, a phone number, an email address if you chose to include one, the location you picked, and whatever you wrote about your device and its symptoms. Anything else you type into the message box comes through as well.
Applying for a job works the same way, with one addition: applications may include a resume file you upload. That document goes to our hiring inbox and to the handful of people who decide who gets interviewed.
Nothing on this website asks for a credit card, a bank account, a Social Security number, or a driver's license number, and none of those are ever collected here. You pay in the store, at a terminal, when the work is done.
Analytics, and what we look at
Google Analytics runs on this site. It reports which pages get read, how long people stay on them, what kind of device and browser they used, roughly where in the world they were at the city or region level, and what search or link brought them in.
What we do with that is unglamorous: figure out which pages answer questions and which ones fail, spot where visitors give up, and decide what still needs writing. It is counted in aggregate. It is not connected to whatever you typed into a form, and no one on this end is assembling a profile of an individual visitor.
Why we have your information, and what we do with it
A form submission exists so we can get back to you. Returning your call, pricing a repair, confirming a part is on the shelf, arranging a business account, or replying about a job application covers essentially all of it. Once that exchange is over, the information has done its job.
A resume is read to evaluate you for the position you applied to and to reach you about it. It does not get forwarded outside the company, it does not get sold, and it does not get dropped into a mailing list. If we hold onto an application because we would like to come back to you when something opens up, that is the only reason, and a single email from you undoes it.
Filling out a quote request does not subscribe you to anything. Should we ever start sending promotional messages, it will be because you asked for them, with an unsubscribe link that actually works.
Your information is not a product
We want no ambiguity here whatsoever. Nothing you give us is sold, leased, swapped, or handed to a data broker. Your details do not end up on a list somewhere. No other business gets your phone number from us so they can pitch you something.
The only companies that see any of it are the technology providers that keep this website and our shop systems running, and only as much as they need to in order to do that. Those are named below.
Cookies, and turning them off
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to hold onto. This one uses them for ordinary site function and so the analytics can distinguish a returning visitor from a brand new one.
They are entirely under your control. Browser privacy settings let you refuse cookies, wipe the ones already stored, or be asked each time. Turn off the analytics cookies and this site behaves identically, because none of our content depends on them. Browser do-not-track signals, tracker-blocking extensions, and Google's official analytics opt-out add-on all work here as well.
Which outside companies are involved
A handful of services are required to run a website at all. We are listing the ones we can actually confirm rather than inflating the list.
- Netlify, which hosts this site and handles the form submissions, meaning your message is processed and stored there on its way to us.
- Google Analytics, which supplies the traffic measurements described above and handles that data under Google's own terms.
- The point-of-sale and repair ticket software we use in the store, which is where your work order lives once you actually drop something off.
- Ordinary email and telephone service, since a form that nobody can answer is not much use.
There is also the boring legal reality that information can be disclosed where the law compels it, such as a valid court order, or where disclosure is needed to protect our rights, our property, or someone's safety. Nothing outside of those circumstances leaves this company.
Your device, your data
Here is the section that actually brought most people to this page, and it has nothing to do with web forms.
At the bench, the rule is that a technician touches only what the job requires. Replacing glass, a battery, a charge port, a camera, or a speaker means booting the device up, confirming the new part works, and shutting it back down. That is the extent of it. Nobody is scrolling your camera roll, reading your texts, or trying to get into your accounts, and there is no business reason for anyone here to want to.
A minority of jobs are different by nature. Recovering data, migrating content to a replacement device, diagnosing a machine that refuses to start, or repairing software can all require working inside the device. Whenever that is true, we explain it before any work begins and proceed only with your say-so.
Back your device up before handing it to anyone for repair, us included. The great majority of repairs put your data at no risk at all, but hardware that arrives already failing can fail further on its own schedule, and a recent backup turns a disaster into a minor annoyance. Not sure how? Ask at the counter and somebody will walk you through it.
Devices stay here. Your repair is carried out by our technicians, on our bench, inside our store. Nothing gets quietly boxed up and mailed to an unnamed facility somewhere else. On the rare job that would need to go elsewhere, you get asked before it moves.
Anything sold or traded in to us is erased before it goes any further, permanently. Want that in writing? Request it when you hand the device over and we will give you written confirmation.
Retention
What you submit through a form sticks around for as long as it is useful in answering you and in keeping a sensible record of our dealings, which is what lets a technician pull up what we did for you last spring. Work orders and device purchase records sit in our normal business records.
Analytics figures are held for the retention window configured in the analytics service and are only ever used in aggregate. Applications are kept while a role is live and for a sensible stretch afterward in case something similar opens. Once information has no remaining purpose, it gets removed.
Getting a copy, a correction, or a deletion
You are entitled to ask what we hold about you from this website, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to have it erased. Write to business@nhiphonerepair.com, which is the shared business inbox for all of our stores including Saugus, and put "Privacy request" in the subject. For anything about a job application or a resume, write to jobs@nhiphonerepair.com instead. You can also simply ask at the counter.
Give us the name, phone number, or email you used originally so we can actually find the right records. There is no fee for a reasonable request, and asking will never affect how you get treated in the store.
The honest caveat: a portion of what we hold may sit inside accounting or business records that have to be retained, and that portion cannot simply be deleted on request. If that applies to you, we will say so directly and tell you exactly what we can remove.
Keeping it safe
Traffic to and from this site is encrypted. Access to what comes through the forms is restricted to the people who need it to respond to you. In the store, our systems require logins and permissions are set by role rather than handed out uniformly.
No system is flawless, though, and any business claiming otherwise is overselling. That is exactly why we ask you not to put passwords, account numbers, or identification numbers into a form on this site. If a repair truly requires something of that nature, it happens in person, at the counter, and not over the internet.
Kids
This website is aimed at adults arranging a repair, and it is not designed to gather information from children. We do not knowingly collect personal details from anyone under 13 through these forms. Let us know if you think a child has sent us something and it will be deleted.
Obviously that says nothing about fixing a kid's tablet or handheld console, which happens here most days of the week. This paragraph is strictly about who is typing into the forms.
Links off this site
You will find links here pointing to our New Hampshire sister site, to mapping and directions tools, and to manufacturer pages that answer certain questions better than we can. The moment you click through, you are on somebody else's site under somebody else's privacy rules, which we have no control over and no visibility into. Read theirs before typing anything sensitive into it.
Updates to this page
Change what we collect or how we use it, and this page gets updated to match. Whatever is published here is current. We do not keep old versions posted elsewhere on the site. Give it a look before sending us information for the first time, or if a long stretch has gone by since you last did.
Massachusetts
We operate in Massachusetts and our activities are governed by the laws applicable in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Read this policy within that framework.
Questions, requests, and complaints about privacy can go to business@nhiphonerepair.com, or you can call or drop into the Saugus store. The phone number, address, and hours are in the footer of every page on this site. If you would rather sort it out face to face, that option is always open, and there is Spanish spoken at the counter.
Common questions
Is any of this sold to advertisers?
Never. Nothing you send us is sold, rented, or traded. Only the service providers that operate this website and our in-store systems ever see it, and only to the degree required to help you.
Will someone read my messages while my phone is being fixed?
No. A technician opens only what the repair calls for, which for screens, batteries, ports, and cameras means turning it on, testing the new part, and turning it off again. Work that genuinely needs to go inside your content, such as data recovery, is explained first and done only with your approval.
Do you send phones out to be repaired somewhere else?
No. Repairs are done by our own technicians on our own bench in the Saugus store. If a rare job ever needed to go elsewhere, you would be asked before anything moved.
Should I back up first?
Yes, before handing a device to any shop. Most repairs pose no risk to your data, but hardware that was already failing can keep failing. Ask at the counter if you would like help doing it.
How do I get my information deleted?
Email business@nhiphonerepair.com with "Privacy request" as the subject, or ask in the store. Mention the name, phone, or email you originally contacted us with so we can match it to a record. Resume and application requests go to jobs@nhiphonerepair.com.
Does blocking cookies break the site?
It does not. Block or clear them and every page here loads and works the same. None of the content on this site sits behind a cookie.
