The price and the timeline, before anything gets opened

Screens on this model take about an hour when the panel is in stock. Back glass runs to hours of bench time, so that is one to leave with us, and we will call you rather than leave you guessing.

Everything starts with a free basic diagnostic. We look at the phone, tell you exactly what is wrong, and give you the number. The ranges on this page show what to expect. Nothing happens until you say go, and walking away costs you nothing at all.

Here is the thing most people do not expect, so you are hearing it early: on a Pro, a smashed back costs more to fix than a smashed screen. The front glass on this generation survives a lot, while the rear glass is fixed into the body of the phone and replacing it means opening everything up. Different job, different price, same fall.

Parts for the newest phones are the tightest and priciest they will ever be. If yours has to be ordered, you get the arrival day while you are still at the counter.

Face ID works when you get it back

The hardware that unlocks your phone with your face sits inside the screen that broke. Carrying it across to the new display, undamaged, is part of the repair. Done properly, your phone unlocks exactly as it did before you dropped it.

One honest exception: if the fall destroyed that hardware outright, Face ID is gone permanently, here and at every other shop, because Apple pairs it to your individual phone. We check yours as part of the free diagnostic, before any money is discussed, so nobody gets a nasty surprise at pickup.

Two other things you will hear from us on any current iPhone. Your phone posts a note in Settings when a screen or battery did not come from Apple, and a few display features can behave slightly differently depending on which grade of panel you pick. Nothing stops working. You just deserve to know before, not after.

Your data stays on your phone

We do not wipe devices. Screens, batteries, cameras, and charge ports never require touching your photos, messages, apps, or accounts, and none of it goes anywhere while we work.

Your device passcode is the one thing we ask for, and only so we can test the repair before you leave with it. That means touch across the whole display, Face ID, every camera, charging, and audio. Your Apple account password is not needed and we will not ask for it.

Back it up beforehand if you like. Good habit, quick to do, and entirely your call.

Which panel to buy for a phone you are keeping

Ask yourself how long you plan to hold onto it. That question decides the answer. If you are keeping it for years, buy the best display available, because on a current phone the gap between grades shows up in color accuracy and in how well you can read the screen outside in July.

If the budget is the binding constraint, a good aftermarket screen is a real option and lots of people are happy with one. We just will not tell you they are identical, and we do not carry the bottom tier at any margin. Those are the panels that develop dead touch spots and ghost taps, which means a second trip for you and a warranty job for us.

Whatever goes in gets our Limited Lifetime Warranty on the part and the workmanship. The warranty does not cover a new crack from a new drop, and we tell you that before you ask.

Other repairs we do on this phone

  • It stopped charging. New cable first, always, because it is free. Then lint, which packs into the port and usually clears during the free diagnostic without a part.
  • Battery falling off fast. Early for this generation, but heavy users get there. We read the actual health figures rather than going by feel, so nobody pays for the wrong fix.
  • Photos look foggy or streaked. Nearly always a cracked cover over the camera rather than a broken camera, and that is the far cheaper repair.
  • A camera that really did fail. Expensive parts on a Pro, so we always eliminate the inexpensive cause before quoting the costly one.
  • Buttons and speakers. A dead side button or an earpiece nobody can hear on a call is a part, not a totalled phone.
  • Went in the water. Power it down, leave it down, do not use rice, and get it here. Speed matters more than anything else you could do at home.
  • Dropped it but it looks fine. Worth a free check anyway, because an impact can compromise the water seals with nothing visible on the outside.

Fix it, claim it, or trade it

Compared against buying a new Pro at retail, every repair listed below is the cheaper path, and that includes the back glass. So most of the time the answer is simply to fix it.

Exceptions exist. A phone carrying several serious problems at once can total up past the point of sense, and we will say so plainly instead of quietly quoting it. And if the device is still covered, or you carry insurance on it, that route may beat paying us. We handle insurance claim repairs, so bring it up rather than guessing.

If moving on is the better play, we buy devices outright including damaged ones through our buyback, and the pre-owned inventory is tested and warrantied. A pre-owned Pro one generation back is regularly the best value on the shelf, and pointing that out costs us a repair ticket and earns us a customer for the next 10 years.

Walk in whenever

No appointment, no booking, no queue number. Bring the phone and your passcode any day we are open, and tell us if you think you have coverage on it.

The bench is in the open in the same room as the counter, because there are no curtains around our repair tables. Locally owned and operated since 2011.

FAQ

Common questions

My back glass shattered. Is that cheaper than a screen?

No, and that surprises most people. The rear glass is fixed into the body of a Pro, so replacing it means opening the phone right up. We explain it before quoting so the price is never a shock.

Will Face ID keep working after a new screen?

Yes. We transfer the Face ID hardware from your original display to the new panel. The only exception is a drop that destroyed it outright, which no shop can recover. We test yours for free before you commit.

Will you wipe my phone?

No. We do not erase devices and none of these repairs require touching your data. Your passcode is only so we can test the work before returning it.

How long should I plan for?

About an hour for a screen with the part in stock. Back glass is a multi-hour job on this model, so leave the phone with us for that one and we will call you.

Is the cheaper screen a mistake?

Not a mistake, a tradeoff. Good aftermarket screens are good. You may notice differences in color and in outdoor brightness. We quote both grades and let you decide with the numbers in front of you.

No visible damage after a drop. Worth checking?

Yes, because the diagnostic is free. Impacts can compromise the water seals with nothing showing on the outside, and that matters the next time the phone gets wet.

Do you need my Apple ID?

No. Just your device passcode, so we can test the repair before handing it back. We will never ask for account credentials a repair does not need.

Can you look at a phone another shop worked on?

Yes, and it happens regularly. Bring any parts that came out of it. Finding out what shape it is in is covered by the free diagnostic.
