Mass Phone Repair is the Massachusetts side of a family of five stores that started with one guy, one cracked screen, and a dorm room at Plymouth State in 2011. Four of those stores are in New Hampshire. The fifth is CPR Cell Phone Repair Saugus, and it is ours. Same owner, same parts sourcing, same Limited Lifetime Warranty, same habit of telling you when a repair is not worth doing. The only thing that changed is the highway out front.
If you are trying to remember the site later, it is MAPhoneRepair.com. Mass Phone Repair, three words, and it is the shop on the southbound side of Route 1 next to the old 99 Restaurant. We are open seven days a week, the hours are at the top of this page, and you never need an appointment for anything.
Route 1 southbound, and the jughandle nobody warns you about
Here is the single most useful thing on this page. We are on the southbound side of Route 1. If you are already heading south, toward Boston, you will come right up on us with no drama: stay in the right lane, watch for the old 99 Restaurant building, and we are the next thing you see.
If you are heading north on Route 1, you cannot simply turn left. Route 1 through Saugus is a divided highway with a concrete barrier down the middle and almost no signalized left turns. You have to keep going north, take the jughandle at Essex Street, loop back around onto the southbound side, and come back down to us. It is roughly a two-minute detour once you know it is coming, and it is a genuinely irritating surprise if you do not. Now you do.
One more local quirk: Route 1 through Saugus is signed as Broadway. There is another Broadway on Route 99 a couple of miles west, and another one in Chelsea, and another in Everett. If your phone is walking you down a residential street lined with three-deckers, you are on the wrong Broadway. Ours is the six-lane one, on the southbound side next to the old 99 Restaurant building.
What we fix
- iPhone repair: screens, batteries, charge ports, back glass, cameras, speakers, and liquid damage
- Samsung and Android repair, including the Galaxy S and A series, Pixel, and Motorola
- Cracked screen repair on basically anything with a screen, phone or tablet or laptop
- Battery replacement, including the swollen ones that have started to push the screen up off the frame
- Water damage recovery, which on this side of the state usually means salt water
- iPad and tablet screens, batteries, and charge ports
- MacBook and Windows laptop repair: screens, keyboards, batteries, storage, liquid spills, and no-boot diagnostics
- Gaming PCs, from a build that will not post to a machine that needs more than it shipped with
- Game consoles, including HDMI ports and controller drift
- Data recovery and transfer, including from devices that will not turn on
- Refurbished iPhones and pre-owned MacBooks, sold with a warranty and not a shrug
- Insurance claim repairs, and business, school, and healthcare accounts
The towns that drive to Route 1
Saugus is a crossroads more than a destination. Route 1 carries the whole North Shore down toward Boston and back, which means the repair shop on Route 1 ends up being the convenient one for a dozen towns that do not border it. We wrote a real page for each of them, with actual directions and actual drive times, because "we serve the greater Boston area" helps nobody.
Closest first: Lynnfield and Peabody are straight down Route 1 from the north. Lynn, Revere, and Nahant come in from the east. Malden, Everett, Chelsea, and Medford come up from the south and west, mostly along Route 99 and Route 60. Melrose, Stoneham, and Wakefield come across on the Lynn Fells Parkway and Route 128.
If your town is on that list, click it. If your town is not on that list and you can see Route 1 from your car, you are still fine. Nobody has ever been turned away for living in the wrong zip code.
We buy, sell, and trade, not just fix
A repair shop that only repairs is doing half a job. Sometimes the right answer to a cracked screen on an aging phone is not a screen. It is trading the thing in and walking out with a better device for less than the repair would have cost. We will run that math out loud with you at the counter instead of quietly selling you the repair.
So we buy devices, we sell refurbished iPhones and pre-owned MacBooks, and we take trades against either. Everything we sell has been through our own bench, not just wiped and boxed. Bring a photo ID for a sale or a trade, and know your passcode, because we cannot legally or practically take a device we cannot verify is yours.
Business, school, and healthcare accounts
If you run a company on the Route 1 corridor and your people carry phones, tablets, or laptops that have to work, you do not want to be filing a consumer repair ticket every time a driver drops a device in a parking lot. We handle fleet repair, volume work, and repeat accounts, and the relationship is a phone call and an invoice rather than a queue.
The same goes for schools with one-to-one device programs and for medical and dental offices with tablets that live on carts. Cracked school iPads arrive in batches, and batches are exactly the kind of work that goes faster when the same bench sees the same 40 devices. Ask for the business side when you call and we will talk about turnaround before we talk about anything else.
Free diagnostics, honest answers, and a Limited Lifetime Warranty
Basic diagnostics are free. You hand us the device, we look at it, and we tell you what is wrong and roughly what it costs before you commit to anything at all. If the honest answer is that the repair costs more than the phone is worth, we say that. That conversation has probably cost us money over the years and it is the reason people come back.
Every repair we do carries our Limited Lifetime Warranty. If the part we installed fails, or our workmanship is the problem, bring it in and we take care of it. It covers the part and the work. It does not cover a brand new crack from a brand new drop, which is the honest boundary on any repair warranty and we would rather say so up front than in small print.
And there are no curtains around our repair tables. If you want to stand at the counter and watch your phone come apart, stand there and watch. Most people find it reassuring, and the ones who do not usually go get a coffee and come back to a finished phone.
Accounts for schools, hospitals and offices
- Net 30 invoicing once your account is set up
- Pickup and delivery included above a repair minimum
- Volume repair without the counter queue
- Documented device wipes, logged per serial number
- Fleet refresh and end-of-life device buyback

Common questions
Do I need an appointment?
No. Walk-ins are the whole business model. Most screen and battery repairs are done while you wait, and if the bench is backed up we will give you an honest wait time at the counter rather than a hopeful one.
Is Mass Phone Repair the same as CPR Cell Phone Repair Saugus?
Yes. Mass Phone Repair is the local company that owns and operates the CPR Cell Phone Repair store on Route 1 in Saugus. Same store, same bench, same people. The brand on the sign is CPR, and the people behind the counter are us.
How do I get to you if I am driving north on Route 1?
You have to pass us, take the jughandle at Essex Street, and come back down the southbound side. Route 1 through Saugus is divided, so there is no left turn into our lot. Budget an extra two minutes and it is painless.
Will I lose my photos?
For a standard screen or battery repair, no. Your data stays on the device and we never need to wipe it to do the work. Liquid damage and board-level failures are a different conversation, and we will be straight with you about the odds before we start.
Do you fix devices you did not sell?
That is almost all of it. Carrier phones, big-box laptops, school-issued iPads, consoles, tablets bought online at three in the morning. Basic diagnostics are free no matter where the device came from.
Do you have Spanish-speaking staff?
Yes. There is Spanish spoken at the Saugus counter, and Dio Marte on the team handles Spanish-speaking customers every day. Hablamos español.
Are you the same company as the New Hampshire stores?
Same owner, same team, same warranty, one more state. The New Hampshire stores have been running since 2011 and Saugus is the first store outside New Hampshire.
Can I get a quote over the phone?
For common repairs on common models, usually yes, and we will give you a realistic range. For anything that got wet, will not power on, or has already been opened by somebody else, we need to see it, and the diagnostic for that is free.
