Route 99 north, Ferry Street, and how long it takes
Broadway in Everett is Route 99, and Route 99 runs north through Malden and connects to Route 1 in Saugus. From Lower Broadway or Everett Square, get on Broadway heading north and stay with it. When you hit Route 1, you want the southbound side, and we are just past the old 99 Restaurant. From most of Everett that is about 15 minutes with normal traffic and longer if you hit the Malden stretch at the wrong hour.
Coming off the Ferry Street side of the city, work your way over to Broadway rather than trying to thread the neighborhoods. Either way, the thing to remember is that Route 1 is divided. If you end up on the northbound side, keep going to the jughandle at Essex Street and loop back down.
